Cowabunga! 10 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
In celebration of our fab new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-Shirts and in anticipation of the release of the brand new reboot film which hits our shores on 17th October we are dedicating this blog post to Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello. I am proud to present to you 10 things you (probably) didn't know about everyone's favourite ass-kicking reptiles.
1. The turtles started life as a brainstorming session between friends Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman in 1983, they found the idea of a slow, cold-blooded reptile with the speed and grace of a Japanese ninja very funny and the concept grew from there. Using money from a tax refund and borrowing from Kevin's uncle they formed Mirage Studios and self published the very first issue of the Turtles comic. From humble beginnings...
2. This original comic series was actually pretty adult, the turtles would slash and stab their enemies with their weapons and they even killed off Shredder in the first issue! They even liked to drink a spot of booze and throw around a swear word or two, but then don't we all! Shredder was brought back to life in 1987 when he became the Turtle's arch nemesis.
3. Shredder was inspired by Kevin Eastmen seeing a large cheese grater and inquiring "Can you imagine a character with weapons on his arms like this?"

New In From Pinky And The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain…
Are you pondering what I'm pondering? Wouldn't it be awesome to have some amazing new Pinky And The Brain designs?? Well...Narf said!
That's right you cartoon loving people of the world, they're back and more ready than ever to take over the world! ...which isn't as scary as it sounds.
Ever since the days of sitting in on the floor in front of the TV so close you can hear and feel the static watching the classic Animaniacs toons, Pinky And The Brain have been one of our all-time favourite and memorable cartoons.
With their small world but big plans, we loved their ambitious attitude and their love-hate bromance.
Determined to reach their full potential, Pinky and the Brain follows two captured mice who live in Acme's research Labs where they have been genetically...ermm.... 'altered' to be super intelligent and be able to speak to humans. Normal so far yeh?
The stories follow The Brain's nightly plans to take over the world, usually ending with things being ruined by lovable simpleton Pinky his not so trusty and clumsy cage buddy.
Guest Post: Now This is a Story All About How…to Ace the 90s Revival Look!
For some of us it doesnât seem so long ago when Top of the Pops was overrun with Britpop bands, you had your hair cut like Rachel from Friends and Saturday night TV was about watching celebrities getting gunged. But believe it or not, enough time has passed for the 90s style to come swinging in with full neon glory back into fashion again.
.

As we all know with this decade, this is tricky territory, as a step too far can turn you into Edina from Ab Fab. So whether you were watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers or Men Behaving Badly at the time, here are some fashion icons of the era you should be taking notice of if you want to get the 90s revival look right. Enjoy!
Cher Horowitz
Starting with the ultimate 90s fashion icon, Cher from 90s smash hit Clueless. The most popular girl in Bronson Alcott High School, she had the lifestyle, the attitude and was always perfectly dressed for the occasion - with the help of some awesome virtual wardrobe software that I still to this day wish I had. This summer, if youâre going to rock the 90s revival look, channel Cher and go for cute matching two piece suits for the office and a strappy top worn over a t-shirt for the gym.
