To the freezer.....
Sure to stir many a memory of those hazy days of Summer back when you were kid, we just had to share this amazing illustration from the uber talented Carolyn Verkuyl
If, like us, a 10p jumbo icepop from the corner shop was a regular after school treat, we're betting you'll agree with everything about her Anatomy of a jumo freezie picture!
Only thing missing in our opinion is a mention of the nasty white section where you'd sucked all the flavour out already..... ugh!
And as a load of our facebook fans pointed out, for those of us who couldn't wait for the scissors and just bit the top off with our teeth, there was also the dreaded jaggedy edges and then obligatory spitting out of bits of plastic to navigate before you could get to the good stuff!
Mmmmmmm......
Check it out below and prepare for the stirrings of nostalgia folks!
TruffleShuffle Supports The Charlie Hook Appeal
Here are TruffleShuffle.com we are often asked to help out with various charity organisations and fundraising events and while we would love to be able to help everyone it is not always possible and so we like to select a couple of requests each month, that we feel we are able to assist in some way.
Recently we received an email from Callum Reece, Radio Presenter and Voiceover Artist, who contributes a lot of his time to different charity causes, helping to raise as much awareness and of course money, as possible. Having read about the latest charity Callum has chosen to support we wanted to contribute to all the fab efforts so far.
Please read on to hear from Charlieâs Mum Nicola and to see how you can help Charlieâs Appeal:
"On the 10th January 2011, on his 5th birthday, my beautiful son Charlie was diagnosed with high risk, stage 4 Neuroblastoma. An aggressive and difficult to treat childhood cancer. I can not describe the shock and shear devastation. He has had to endure months of intensive and invasive tests, chemotherapy, surgery and will shortly begin radiotherapy and immunotherapy. I am literally watching my once lively, happy, cheeky and outgoing baby go through hell and back in hope that he gets better. This is a living nightmare. Charlie is a fighter and tries so hard to keep a smile on his face because he knows this will make his mummy smile too. He has so far responded well to treatment but there is a very high relapse rate. The UK has no relapse protocol. In this event, I refuse to be told there is nothing more that can be done, I simply will not accept this. Its my job as his mummy to go to the ends of the earth and back to save him.
Unfortunately this comes at a price, a 6 figure price for treatment abroad. Charlie needs to be able to have instant access to money to pay for treatment that the UK cannot offer. It is impossible to predict if, how, or where Charlie could relapse, but the fact is that he does stand a terribly high chance of suffering some sort of relapse within the next 5 years, with most relapsing within the first 2 years. Treatments range in price from around £150,000, though should Charlie relapse in the brain, something that is happening more and more, we would need to be ready with a deposit of around £300,000 for live saving treatment in America.

The Real Life Springfield is finally revealed!
I think I speak for everyone when I say our childhoods would not have been the same without the loveable characters of Springfield. In fact...childhood? About 85% of my Sundays are spent on the sofa watching The Simpsons thinking 'I haven't seen this one - why haven't I seen this one'? The endless pot of goodness is brought to us by Matt Groening - who recently revealed a secret about his inspiration for the setting.
Classed as one of the best-kept secrets in television history, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening has now pointed to Springfield, Oregon, as his inspiration for the animated home town of Homer and the gang. Groening told Smithsonian magazine recently that he was inspired by the television show 'Father Knows Best', which took place in a place called Springfield. He worked out that Springfield was one of the most common city names in the US.
"In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, 'This will be cool; everyone will think it's their Springfield'. And they do," he said.
The show has made a running joke of hiding the true Springfield location. In one episode, Lisa points to Springfield on a map, but the animated "camera view" is blocked by Bart's head
The city has already incorporated the Simpsons into local lore. The Springfield Museum features a couch similar to the animated one shown in the show's opening credits, and a plaque marking the movie's release.
Here are some snaps from the real Springfield, and the Springfield we know and love...
