The Rock Chick's Back In Black

Before I started to guest blog for TruffleShuffle I was already a regular customer (some would say TS tees contributed to my current financial situation of ‘not good’) and owned more than a few t-shirts in my Wardrobe.

Amongst those tees were a few from the label ‘Amplified’ who have an amazing range of music t-shirts. As much as I love my fashion, I love my music more but if I can combine the two then why not! So when TruffleShuffle asked me to do my next post based on a ‘Rock Chick’ theme, I didn’t have to think twice. And of course there was only one label that I was going to choose from…

Even though I will be the first to admit that I have the most random/eclectic taste in music (anything goes- within reason) one genre has to be a firm fave: Rock & Roll. It was tough choosing an Amplified tee as there are so many amazing tees to pick from but I really wanted one from the lyrics range. Unfortunately the ladies “I wanna be adored” Stone Roses tee was sold out but I wasn’t upset for too long as the AC/DC “Back in Black” T Shirt wasn’t!

ACDC Back In Black T-Shirt

AC squiggly line DC’s “Back in Black” is one of my favourite rock anthems ever. From the intro you are hooked. It’s got everything a rock song should have in my opinion; epic guitar riffs, shouty vocals and catchy lyrics. This song definitely brings out the inner rock chick in me complete with air guitar and head banging.

My personal everyday style has a lot of rock influence so I found it pretty natural to style the tee. Taking inspiration from music videos from the early 80’s & 90’s (Madonna and Slash from Guns N Roses etc) to the modern day fashionistas such as Fearne Cotton, Kate Moss and Alice Dellal.

The t-shirt is actually quite long so in the first outfit photo I’ve folded it under to make it look shorter. One item every rock chick needs in her wardrobe is the biker jacket, guaranteed to give any outfit an edge. To inject slight colour into my outfit I opted for grey jeans instead of black. If only I owned some ripped stonewash jeans… (though my parents would not be impressed!) As it was such a nice day I chose black espadrille wedges, adding a bit of glamour to my look. My bandana scarf which I used as a makeshift belt is an ode to Guns N Roses front man Axl Rose…

Be the buyer! TruffleShuffle needs you!

Once again, it’s time for you guys to tell us which designs you want to see on the site.  We’ve bought back a few of our favourite characters and brands and given them a fresh new design twist and we would love to hear your opinion on them! Featuring the likes of Sesame Street, Slush Puppie and Lassie to name but a few, to have your say on what makes it onto the pages of TruffleShuffle.com, simply head over to our Facebook page HERE and get voting. Like or comment on the ones you love (or hate) and our buyers will take all your feedback on board when deciding which ones to go into production with. The power is in your hands!

You can also tell us what colour tees you’d like to see the designs on and whether you want to see them available for men, women or both of course!

Being a bit of an old skool gamer myself, the shirt that gets my personal vote would have to be the super retro, 8-bit, Sesame Street Invaders tee. Loving the super blocky pixel style graphics, Elmo and the gang have never looked better!  It takes me back to my childhood days of being glued to the TV and playing my NES from morning to night.

Have to say though, I also have a bit of a soft spot for the super cool and chilled out Slush Puppie ‘Just Chillin’ tee.  Makes me wish I could be teleported to some far away beach to relax with some sun, sea, sand and a slush puppie!

Also make sure you check out the return of loveable characters like Penny Crayon, Charlie Chalk and brand favourites like Sprite and Dr Pepper. What’s the worst that can happen?

Autobots roll out......

If like me you were tranform-erly (is that a word?) neglected as a child because ones parents realised Transformers was a massive marketing ploy by Hasbro to get kids to buy toys and therefore your only transformer was a cheap market knock off 'Santa' got you for Xmas (I never realised Santa was a tight wad), then you'll be pretty excited about the upcoming Transformers dark of the moon movie which is released THIS WEEK!

I know for a fact I am. After watching the first 2 movies without blinking once, I can confirm they were every adult Transformers fans dream (well mine anyway!) I swear I was clinically blinded by all the explosions followed closely by a near motorcycle accident on the way home because I was willing my bike to turn into a giant robot (in case you were wondering, I wanted it to be a decepticon which I’d name Bones and we’d be awesome together OK.)

Therefore, I’m expecting more explosions, lasers, guns, giant robots and a few more explosions followed closely by bleeding eyeballs and fits of epilepsy when I leave the cinema for the third instalment of the hugely popular franchise. If that happens, I'll be a happy boy! If it doesn't, those Autobots had better watch out.

Reviews have been mixed so far with The Daily Mail saying
