Super Heroes on ice!
With our (ever growing) collection of Super Hero t-shirts, it only seems fair to pay homage to Chung Kongs recent take on just how 'cool' Super Hero's actually are!
His recent Super Hero retro inspired ice lollies left us TruffleShufflers licking our lips when we stumbled upon his recent creation!
See if you can spot any of our Super Hero t-shirts that match his spin on some of his favourite heroes!
Get Tony Stark AKA Robert Downey Jr's Black Sabbath T-Shirt As Seen In The Avengers Movie
In 1970, British heavy metal band Black Sabbath released a song called Iron Man and although it was not inspired in any way by the Marvel Comics armour-clad superhero, it was an obvious choice for the soundtrack of the 2008 movie starring Robert Downey Jr and can be heard over the closing credits.
Taking the connection even further, Tony Stark AKA Downey Jr is permanently sewed into a Black Sabbath T-shirt when he's not wearing his Iron Man suit in the Avengers Assemble movie and after numerous requests, you can now get the very same tee right here at TruffleShuffle.com.
This wicked Black Sabbath tee '78 Tour design has the real look of an original, vintage tee and is a bargain for any Superhero fans at just £19.99!
Apparently, Robert Downey Jr was so taken with the tee that when asked....
Was there one particular prop he decided to keep?
Minimalist Superheroes
There's nothing I like more than Trawling the internet for random pictures and videos. And every so often you find fresh artistic talent that just catches you eye, in this case made even better by its retro inspired theme. These Minimal Superhero Posters by art student Calvin Lin perfectly demonstrate my point.
The minimalist designs are great, from Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman to Green Lantern and others, every poster is also 100% clear, without ever showing too much.
I don't know about you, but I'd love these hung around my house!
The weekly retro movie rundown 2!
This week on the retro weekend movie rundown, it all seems a bit Superhero heavy, most likely due to the release of the Avengers movie in cinemas this week (anyone planning on leaving their sofa to watch that by the way?)
Despite that - there are still a few old school corkers in there so plenty of excuses not to leave your house all weekend in the name of your retro movie education!
Iâve done my best to include some classic movies I think you should watch, a few movies from that boy wizard we all know and love and one guilty pleasure - Iâll let you guess which one that is (Whatever!)
Enjoy and have a happy weekend of retro movie watching TruffleShufflers.....
SATURDAY 28th APRIL
Comic Con 2011!
If youâre anything like us then you'll be eagerly waiting for the 42nd annual San Diego Comic Con to begin next weekend! For those not in the know, Comic Con is for anyone who's really into comic book, films, TV shows, and anything else nerdy! It's basically a huge gathering (over 120,000 strong so really, really HUGE!) of enthusiasts (generally dressed up as their favourite characters) all coming together to share their stories and trade their wares. The best bit is that you get to meet the creators, artists and stars of some of these amazing productions which is why it's such a mecca!
Originally started by a group of comic book fans in the San Diego Area, the first convention was held in the basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel with an attendance of just 300 people. The convention has moved about throughout the years, going from the U.S. Grant Hotel to the University Of California At San Diego and finally to the San Diego Convention Center. In that time, it has grown to an attendance of over 100,000 people and has expanded to four days. It has now become the largest comic book convention in the world so it's pretty special!
So are any of you lot going this year and if so - seeing as it's pretty much obligatory to dress up, we figured we'd run down some of our favourite Fancy Dress Costumes to help get you sorted!
First off, you could be flying off to comic con in proper old school style with this amazing official Superman costume. It's all you need to woo your adoring crowd and go about your super hero activities! Proudly show off your ripped torso and world saving capabilities for all to see! And all that for £36 too!
Can’t get enough of Junk Foods amazing tees
TruffleShuffle Health Warning.....Junk Food will seriously affect your health.....y addiction to cool retro t-shirts!
Having seen many t-shirts grace the shelves of TruffleShuffle over the years, Junk Food definitely has to be my favourite brand. I originally fell in love with the soft figure hugging t-shirts, however â this romance has been kept alive due to Junk Foods ability to develop as a brand â offer more styles, more awesome designs â on different fabrics.
Recently moving house and downsizing gave me the opportunity to examine my wardrobe â asking my t-shirts random questions like; Have I worn you in the last year? Do you go with everything? Were you an impulse buy? I realised I couldnât part with any of my Junk Food t-shirts as they all add something unique and quirky to my collection.
Starting with the Ladies Junk Food t-shirts, I thought I would have a closer look at the brand and choose my top 5 designs.
Junk Food are famous for their Super Hero collection and with designs like this â itâs clear why. I love this tee because itâs really fitted, such a nice colour for my summer wardrobe and features a quirky picture of my favourite super hero!
We have recently added some exciting new shapes â including this amazing design from Junk Food. I love this shape as it's really feminine whilst showing my appreciation for Star Wars!
