If you’re still pining for the days of Duck Hunt and Super Mario 3, take heart, because this Nintendo Controller Coffee Table has just what your den needs.

The perfect piece of furniture for any retro gamer is this awesome Nintendo Controller Coffee Table.  The brainchild of designer Charles Lushear, what makes this table all the more desirable is not only its looks, it is also fully functional, letting you enjoy saving the Princess from the nefarious grip of Bowser for the umpteenth time, while sipping on your morning cuppa.

Constructed using premium maple, mahogany and walnut, this table will cost you a bit more than one shiny gold coin ($3,500 to be exact!) but is the perfect example of old skool Nintendo cool.

Massive kudos to programmer Lazyitis who's done an amazing cover of "This Charming Man" by The Smiths - done in the style of Super Mario Bros..

This week, the TruffleShufflers have been racking their brains and seeking inspiration for that well-known Halloween dilemma, what the hell do I carve into my pumpkin???

Yes, for this week's Friday Facebook competition, everyone at Truffle Towers was given their very own pumpkin with the brief that we had 2 days to design and create a character carving with a retro, 80's spin.

Well, I must say the end results were very impressive! After a week of highly competitive talk and secretive Internet researching, the portly pumpkins have now been papped and released on our Facebook page!

The name of the game is to LIKE or comment on your favourite to help us decide which TruffleShuffler deserves the title of Pumpkin carving chief! The one with the most votes wins the TruffleShuffler a prize and whoever likes or comments on any pumpkin gets popped into a hat and we'll randomly select one of you to win a special Halloween treat! We’ve just found out about an amazing exhibition that’s happening in far away Los Angeles.  ‘Super I Am 8 Bit’ is a group art show where over 100 artists re-imagine their 80's gaming fantasies, delusions and secret desires via all sorts of media - painting, sculpture, plush, and even some more interactive experimentation.  Get ready to see some classic computer game characters as you've never seen them before!

Check out this awesome flyer for the event, which features some of my favourite characters like Mario, Pac-Man, Sonic and Mega Man all leaping out into action from underneath Princess Peach’s skirt!

This short video shows one of the past events, and is a glimpse of the kind of goodies that you might expect to see at the new 2011 version.  Keep your eyes peeled for a DJ using a GameBoy as a soundsystem!

Mayhem has set in at Truffle Towers this week as us shufflers scramble for our controllers for some seriously old school, retro, and awesomely classic games. Who cares about growing up?!

Brushing the cobwebs aside from our Nintendo NES, Atari, N 64, Sega Master System and the like, TruffleShuffle is reliving the good old days of our mis-spent childhoods with some finger numbing sessions on everyone’s favourite retro video games. Top of our list, of course, it’s the plucky little Italian we have all come to love, King of retro games....Mario! There is no better way to while away the hours than in the world of Mario and his brother Luigi, ducking and diving, level after level, in evermore risky situations. Mama Mia!!

Also, a few interesting, but useless facts for today:Mario was originally known as Jumpman. However, when Nintendo's US office were trying to think of a better name in time for the American release of the game, they were interrupted by their landlord Mario Segale, after whom they christened the character.A Q Score survey in the early nineties revealed that Mario was more recognisable to American children than Mickey Mouse!Have a great weekend!
