Guest Post: My Week At TruffleShuffle By Aka
Hello, my name is Akachukwu Oguine and I just finished working at TruffleShuffle for a week as work experience. I came from Lagos to Reading for holiday, but stayed in Bristol for a week to work for the best T-shirt company ever! (Not up for discussion!)
Every day I had many different tasks and jobs to do in different areas of the business that had been planned for me by the members of the TruffleShuffle team to provide me with a better understanding about how the business works in each stage of development from packaging items to pitching ideas.
In this blog post, I will be taking you through the things I did during my work experience, day by day.
Day 1: Monday
When I first arrived at TruffleShuffle, I was introduced to every available member of the TruffleShuffle family including Iain, Amy, James, Pat, Ron, Andy, Lucy, Chris, Tracey, Claire and (Lee) Mullins.
The first task I had to complete was helping Ron and Andy pick and pack orders placed over the weekend. I enjoyed this because it was one of the more hands-on jobs I did during the week. The task was to look at the invoices, read the store codes on them and match them to the codes of the ordered items in the warehouse. It was also great because I realized how swift operations in the warehouse had to be to get all first class orders made on Sunday out by 4.00pm or earlier!
Our Exclusive New Ferris Tees Are UnBuellerevable!
On the 20th of February 1987, (but quite a while after the yanks got their hands on it), we were first introduced to one of the most iconic characters of the decade. Someone we all wanted to be, someone who came along and did what they wanted and got away with is...if only just!
He lives the teenagers dream, getting to skive off school, drive a fast and very expensive car, and well...generally lark around with his best mates in the great city of Chicago. Who wouldn't want that right?
We are of course talking about... Ferris Bueller!
.
From the very first glimpse of the tailor we say for this film, we were in love and we sure weren't alone! Ferris later became one of the top-grossing films of the year and a true 80s classic for ever after. Not bad for a film that was written in less than a week!
With such a following and of course looking to feed our Bueller bellies with even more retro goodies, we've been hard at work creating some amazing and super exclusive new Ferris Bueller T-Shirts, this time inspired by that classic quote we all know and love.
Our Top Things That Made an 80s Summer...
PHEW! What an amazing burst of Summer it's been! (for now) All this sunny, t-shirt wearing, wayfarer sunnies donning weather has really got us thinking back to the good old days (keep with us) where our Summers were spent outside all day long with our friends and family without a care in the world. Bliss!
.
Looking back at what we got up to and perhaps what things are like for now got us digging up some of our favourite things to do when the sun was out. So! With all of this 80s nostalgia swimming around in our heads like the ice cold water in a paddling pool, we thought we would put together a little post full of.....Our Top Things That Made an 80s Summer!
Sit back relax and let the childhood memories wash over you. Enjoy!
