Happy Roald Dahl Day! Here's 10 Facts You [Hopefully] Didn't Know

That's right peeps of the internets! It's Roald Dahl day today and we're busy celebrating one of the nations favourite authers in style with some of our fantastic retro Roald Dahl T-Shirts on and diving headfirst into the land of the man himself.

To help celebrate this big day, we've decided to pick out some cool Roald Dahl facts that's hopefully you won't already know, just to you can learn a little something new. Enjoy!

1) His first job wasselling kerosene in Midsomer Norton, he later went on to work for Shell while living in Kenya.

2) He was a Hurricane fighter pilot during World War II where he became a flying ace and intelligence officer, rising to the rank of wing commander.

3) He survived a plane crash! Struggling to find the airstrip, running low on fuel and with night approaching, he was forced to attempt a landing in the desert. The undercarriage hit a boulder and the aircraft crashed, fracturing his skull, smashing his nose and temporarily blinding him. He managed to drag himself away from the blazing wreckage and passed out. Later, he wrote about the crash in his first published work.

4th Jurassic Park Film Uncovered....With New Name!

Anyone who's anyone has seen and LOVED the classic Jurassic Park (no rhyme intended) movies from back in our youth...or what we like to call the glory days of films. Not that we're biased at all!

These films are still some of our all-time favourites and we're pretty sure will still be as much loved by us when we're kicking it in the nursing homes as they were back when we thought the Sega was the pinnacle of gaming. Actually we kind of still do :)

Because of recent troubles with the Pirates of the Caribbean film, which is being delayed while writers wrestle with the screenplay, it seems this has created some time and space for Colin Trevorrow, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver to set to work on the next Jurassic Park script! Woop!

But it's back with a twist! Yep Universal Pictures has announced the next instalment will carry the title of Jurassic Word instead of its classic title. New title or not, this film comes our way a whopping 14 years after the last release, Jurassic Park III, and 22 years after the original in 1993.

Jurassic World will hit cinemas in June 2015 and while Steven Spielberg will sadly not be directing, he'll be an executive producer so something to hold onto there. The film’s new 2015 release comes in a pretty darn competitive year for blockbuster films too, with the new Batman-Superman combo film, the next installment of the Star Wars franchise from Disney and of course the new Avengers: Age of Ultron all due for release. What a year!

Happy Birthday, Fresh Prince Turns 23!!

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Get your Fresh Prince of Bel-Air T-Shirts at the ready guys because today 23 years ago everyone's favourite street-smart teenager from Philadelphia hit TV screens in the US. Will Smiths adventures as the Fresh Prince saw him land on the doorstep of his respectable Californian family, the Banks'. The idea was to make Will respectable, responsible and mature, but he had other plans...

Back in May this year we posted about the Fresh Prince cast reuniting on the Graham Norton Show and Will Smith showed that he still knew the Fresh Prince rap all too well, so whether you're a big or small Fresh Prince fan you must know at least some of the opening credits rap! If you don't know any of it, where have you been? To jog your memory, check out the video below and if you want to join in I've provided lyrics too so you can impress your whole office with your rap skills.... ENJOY!!
