A naive American teenager moves with her wealthy family to 1950s Cuba, where she is bewitched by the pulsing Latin American rhythms. The Karate Kid (1984) Sony Movies 2:00pm-4:30pm

A teenager at a new school befriends a pretty girl, but her ex-boyfriend is jealous and attacks him. During one particularly bad fight, a wise old caretaker intervenes and defeats the youngster's assailants using his martial art skills. He goes on to mentor the boy and teaches him karate so he can face his enemies in a tournament. Drama, with Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elisabeth Shue.

A South African engineer is appointed a general manager of a gold mine and exposes a conspiracy to boost the price of the ore by drilling into an underground lake beneath where the company is digging, causing a devastating flood. Jingle all the way! The Christmas special retro movie rundown is here and BOY is it a (nut) cracker!

With the sprouts bubbling away and the oven slowly warming the house with it's delicious festive smells, we find ourselves in a mix of chaos, delight and nostalgia of Christmases past. With the dust starting to settle on another year, we find ourselves perched on the nearest sofa as we let the warm glow of the TV soothe us into the night with it's festive joy.

The Weekly Retro Movie Rundown 254

Grow bags and watering cans! Another retro movie weekend is here and boy is it a beauty!

Ripping open the top of our little bag of brown, earthy growing gold.... we'll pick out the finest seeds in the pack to plunge down into the soft wet soil. Watering just the perfect amount and giving them all the sun our current weather can afford, we'll wait patiently for untold growing glory to begin. Within just a few weeks, we can see signs of the impending deliciousness which sends our excitement rising with every new shoot that appears. Will we have created vegetable magic? Or will we have nothing more than a few small lumps of starchy matter... only time will tell.
