Retro gaming has never looked so cool!
Weâve just found out about an amazing exhibition thatâs happening in far away Los Angeles. âSuper I Am 8 Bitâ is a group art show where over 100 artists re-imagine their 80's gaming fantasies, delusions and secret desires via all sorts of media - painting, sculpture, plush, and even some more interactive experimentation. Get ready to see some classic computer game characters as you've never seen them before!
Check out this awesome flyer for the event, which features some of my favourite characters like Mario, Pac-Man, Sonic and Mega Man all leaping out into action from underneath Princess Peachâs skirt!
This short video shows one of the past events, and is a glimpse of the kind of goodies that you might expect to see at the new 2011 version. Keep your eyes peeled for a DJ using a GameBoy as a soundsystem!

Ode To The 80's
One of TruffleShuffle's favourite Facebook fans Ashlea Davies has written this amazing poem for us and we wanted to share it with you all as if you are a child of the 80's it will certainly bring back some memories!

Retro baking is all the rage! Cupcakes are cool, muffins are of the moment but this awesome retro arcade cake mould really takes the biscuit!
Now landing in a kitchen near you these microwave-safe cake moulds are a real blast from the past, inspired by the original arcade games that we all grew up playing. What do you get if you cross Star Wars with Call of Duty?
Star Wars and Call of Duty fans will love this unofficial mod which turns your PC copy of Modern Warfare into an epic game of galactic battling. In development since 2009, it's called Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare, and is the product of a team of German coders called BlackMonkeys. Check out the video trailer below for a sneaky peek of what to expect....
As The Guardian reports, It's a total conversion so all the environments, weapons and characters have been re-skinned to fit within the Star Wars universe. Players can choose to become troopers in the Imperial Forces or soldiers of the Rebel Alliance, before scrapping it out over seven maps including Mos Eisley, Bespin and Jundland. Of course, as it's a mod, you'll need the PC version of CoD: Modern Warfare, but if you already own the game, you have little excuse not to download, install and start deathmatching on the deadly sands of Tatooine. We just hope the legal depts at LucasFilm and Activision will turn a blind eye!

Oh wait, we do! This is no ordinary bit of kit though. Built completely from LEGO bricks, it canât be taken apart but bricks can be added to the top or bottom of the camera so you can dig out your old toy box and start putting those boxes of lego back into use. Perfect for us grown ups who can still smell those little plastics bricks as if we were ten years old, kids will obviously love it too making it perfect for their first foray into the world of photography. Let's be clear, this is no toy though; itâs a full functioning 3 Megapixel digital camera, featuring a color 1.5â LCD screen. Ten Favourite Retro Computer Games on Ten Retro Platforms!
Some of us have been getting a touch into Call of Duty recently, but is it as satisfying and addictive as games of old? Well, to be fair, modern games are a million times better than oldschool games in so many different ways. But a little piece of us longs to be back in the day when you could do your homework whilst waiting for your Sepctrum to load (oh, and don't forget to turn the cassette over halfway through). Or show off to your mates with your very own Duck Hunt bazooka.
So, we came up with 10 blasts from the past - perhaps not the very best games around in the 80s and 90s, but these special little treats still hold dear memories in our slowly numbing fingers. I'm actually humming the California Games song whilst writing this post!
