V and A Museum announce a David Bowie Exhibition!
Up until recently - we thought 'V and A' stood for Victoria and Albert - however after their recent announcement regarding David Bowie, it clearly stands for 'Very Awesome'!
The V and A Museum, known for it's dedication to art and design are hosting a David Bowie exhibition featuring over 300 items from the David Bowie Archive, from costumes to handwritten lyrics - to create the first international retrospective of the musician's incredible career.
The exhibition's co-creator, Victoria Broackes recently told Vogue Magazine why she's so excited about the event. "Bowie is a pioneer not just in music, but also of rock theatre, videos, internet and digital downloads. He's always personally and actively involved in everything that he creates and he is continuously cited as an influence by artists, designers and performers. This influence on music, fashion, visual and virtual culture, which seems if anything to be growing, links him directly to almost every subject area the V&A covers."
It's only fair of us to put together a mini tribute - showcasing some of our own David Bowie clothing, who knows - they could become collectors items one day!
If you're a fan of Labyrinth, we have an amazing selection of Labyrinth t-shirts - perfect for all you avid fans out there!

'Where the Wild Things Are' Author Maurice Sendak Dies
Some very sad news has hit the desk here at Truffle Towers today. Children's author and illustrator Maurice Sendak has died early this morning at age 83.
Sendak, who was born in Brooklyn in 1928 and was dubbed by critics as 'the Picasso of children's books', illustrated more than 50 books during his long career and also won a number of prizes for his amazing drawings.
In all, Sendak penned 17 books but was best known for his 1963 story Where The Wild Things Are, a children's classic in the US and sold more than 19 million copies worldwide.
This childhood classic told the story of a boy called Max who after being sent to his room without supper as punnishment, goes on a journey through his own imagination in a mysterious forest full of fearsome-looking monsters, later becoming the king of all wild things. However, he soon finds himself lonely and homesick and returns home to the safety of his bedroom where he finds his supper waiting for him. Sorry for those who haven't read it yet!
Often seen as quite scary and controversial due to its monster imagery (which we love!), this much-loved tale earned him the hugely prestigious Medal for the best childrenâs book of 1964 and became a hit movie in 2009.
It’s cool to be a mum of the 80′s!
With Mothers Day fast approaching, it's time to consider what gift you're going to treat her to - and as always - TruffleShuffle have it covered! The only question you have to ask yourself is 'What kind of Mum is she?' - then you can leave the rest to us!
If, like mine - your mum was responsible for some disastrous home made Super Hero costumes as you were growing up, then why not show her how 'times have changed' by treating her to a 'Girl Power-esque' t-shirt or accessory. With the likes of Wonder Woman, She-ra and Supergirl - you're bound to find something that will save the day!
Fancy herself as a bit of a Goddess in the kitchen? If so - then what better way to spice up her kitchen than with some quirky retro homeware gifts. This week we had some amazing goodies hit the TruffleShuffle shelves - including the Monopoly Board Tea Towel which would look great tucked into any of our aprons while she's cooking your favourite home made meals! We also recently added some amazing Espresso sets from Twister and Cluedo - you can check out the full range by clicking here.
With our wide range of 80's music t-shirts - she can show off her appreciation for all her favourite bands, while rocking one of our funky t-shirts. In a variety of shapes and colours, we have something for everyone. For our full range of music t-shirts and gifts click here.
