10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Home Alone

Being such huuuuge fans of retro movies, we of course love nothing more than to kick back in our very own Home Alone T-Shirts, put our feet up and watch one of our all time favourite kids films Home Alone.

Every kid wanted to be him, cheeky, lovable, and the ability to effortlessly get one over any meddling adult who put him to the test. To help spread the Home Alone love, we thought we would share some fab little facts we recently discovered out this cult kids film. Take a peek!

Kevin's classic retro toy The Talkboy was originally created as a non-working prop for use in the film. Later in 1993 it was made into a retail version, brought on by a massive letter-writing campaign by young fans of the film who wanted the real thing.

John Candy amazingly filmed his part in just 1 day, a very long 23-hour day that is! The story about having once forgotten his son at a funeral home was entirely improvised. His part is obviously inspired by the character he played in Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

Daniel Stern agreed to have the tarantula put on his face for exactly one take. He had to mime screaming because the noise would have scared the spider, and the scream was dubbed in later.

The TruffleShuffle My Little Pony!

There are a LOT of My Little Pony fans here at Truffle Towers so when one of our lovely customers who has her own business making custom Ponies got in touch with us, offering to make us our very own TruffleShuffle Pony - unsurprisingly, we leapt at the chance!

Victoria who runs Equine Vulgarity is a master of creating bespoke versions of the cartoon cuties we all grew up with so we asked her to come up with an 80's tastic Pony to become the Truffle Towers unofficial mascot!

Check out her masterpiece below...

She comes complete with a neon mane, beaded accessories, bright leg warmers and her very own old school pink visor - a true 80's vision!

Now all that remains is to give her a name - what do you think guys? We'd love to hear your suggestions!

To the freezer.....

Sure to stir many a memory of those hazy days of Summer back when you were kid, we just had to share this amazing illustration from the uber talented Carolyn Verkuyl

If, like us, a 10p jumbo icepop from the corner shop was a regular after school treat, we're betting you'll agree with everything about her Anatomy of a jumo freezie picture!

Only thing missing in our opinion is a mention of the nasty white section where you'd sucked all the flavour out already..... ugh!

And as a load of our facebook fans pointed out, for those of us who couldn't wait for the scissors and just bit the top off with our teeth, there was also the dreaded jaggedy edges and then obligatory spitting out of bits of plastic to navigate before you could get to the good stuff!

Mmmmmmm......

Check it out below and prepare for the stirrings of nostalgia folks!
