New RoboCop Out Today!
Calling all you Sci-Fi movie lovers in the land! Yep as we're sure you've heard, the 1987 cult classic RoboCop has had a full metal-faced remake and is ready for duty as he hits the Detroit streets once again in full cinematic special effects glory today!
So what did we love about the classic? Well aside from some all our action sequences, one of the charms of the RoboCop story is its ability to work on a few different levels. Bare with us.... At the surface it works as a science fiction film, however it also gives us plenty to love as an action thriller, as a social satire flick, and as a poignant human tragedy story.
So what's the story? The film takes place like all good sci-fi flicks in the future, more precisely in Detroit USA, a city full of gangs and crime. In an attempt to stamp out crime, robots have been put into play with pretty low success. After a hero cop is killed in the line of duty, okay not totally killed then, scientists discover a way to combine him with a robot to create a super-being made of half-man, half-machine that operates with perfect logic except for the shreds of human spontaneity and intuition that may be lurking somewhere in the background of its memory.
Pretty typical stuff right? :)
If you like the sounds of this 80s classic combined with some bang up-to-date special effects and crafty camera work, this is the film for you. Take a peep at the trailer for even more robot goodness....
