The Curse of 27!

With the recent, tragic passing of Amy Winehouse, I'd like to shine a light upon the talent the musical world has lost to the so called "27 club"

Brian Jones - The Rolling Stones guitarist was found drowned in a swimming pool. A coroner's report explained the incident as 'death by misadventure'.

Jimi Hendrix - Pioneering guitarist Jimi Hendrix was a left handed guitarist who strung his right handed guitar backwards, playing it behind his head and even with his teeth at times. Whenever you air guitar, you are saluting this God of Rock. Jimi tragically died by asphyxiating on his own vomit. A well-known known drug addict, he had earlier combined sleeping pills with wine.

Janis Joplin - Songwriter Joplin died on October 4, 1970 from a heroin overdose. The raspy-voiced singer was called "probably the most powerful singer to emerge from the white rock movement in the sixties" by Time

Comic Con 2011!

If you’re anything like us then you'll be eagerly waiting for the 42nd annual San Diego Comic Con to begin next weekend! For those not in the know, Comic Con is for anyone who's really into comic book, films, TV shows, and anything else nerdy! It's basically a huge gathering (over 120,000 strong so really, really HUGE!) of enthusiasts (generally dressed up as their favourite characters) all coming together to share their stories and trade their wares. The best bit is that you get to meet the creators, artists and stars of some of these amazing productions which is why it's such a mecca!

Originally started by a group of comic book fans in the San Diego Area, the first convention was held in the basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel with an attendance of  just 300 people. The convention has moved about throughout the years, going from the U.S. Grant Hotel to the University Of California At San Diego and finally to the San Diego Convention Center. In that time, it has grown to an attendance of over 100,000 people and has expanded to four days. It has now become the largest comic book convention in the world so it's pretty special!

So are any of you lot going this year and if so - seeing as it's pretty much obligatory to dress up, we figured we'd run down some of our favourite Fancy Dress Costumes to help get you sorted!

First off, you could be flying off to comic con in proper old school style with this amazing official Superman costume. It's all you need to woo your adoring crowd and go about your super hero activities! Proudly show off your ripped torso and world saving capabilities for all to see! And all that for £36 too!

My Work Experience Diary....

My name is Bailey Douglas and I'm a year 10 student at Clevedon School. I chose to do work experience at www.TruffleShuffle.com because I do a lot of online shopping and I'm really interested in fashion so I wanted to see how things worked behind the scenes.

The team at TruffleShuffle planned lots of different tasks for me to do throughout the week and put me to work with lots of different members of staff so I could get a feel for every part of the business.

On Monday, I worked with the guys in the warehouse picking, packing, checking and shipping customer orders. The warehouse is really big and stacked with loads of t-shirts, hoodies and accessories. They have a very efficient system of getting the products to the customer and everything is very organised to make sure we don't make any mistakes.

I took some pictures so you guys could see how everything works too.

Every aisle has a letter and they're numbered and lettered so every T-Shirt has it's own spot. This makes it really easy to pick all of your orders and to make sure we always get the right item.

Monday is a really busy day for the warehouse as we have to get out all of the weekends orders ready to go for pickup at 5pm so I was kept really busy. It was a tiring day but really good to see how this part of the business works.
