Retro Red Lips Telephone Winner...

Firstly we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has entered our Twitter competition over the last couple of days. We had an impressive 327 entries in total.

How Was The Winner Chosen

Just so there is no confusion, we want to outline the process used to select the winner. Each entrant was assigned a number when they entered the contest, we then selected a number at random using the 'Random Number Generator' at random.org, the winner being the user who had the entry number that was picked out by the random generator.

The Prize

The prize for this Twitter competition was a Retro Red Lips Telephone.

The Winner

The lucky number out of the generator was 271, so the winner of this competition is MissCatHarris, congratulations. We are making attempts to contact you now to arrange delivery of your prize.

Ten Favourite Retro Computer Games on Ten Retro Platforms!

Some of us have been getting a touch into Call of Duty recently, but is it as satisfying and addictive as games of old? Well, to be fair, modern games are a million times better than oldschool games in so many different ways. But a little piece of us longs to be back in the day when you could do your homework whilst waiting for your Sepctrum to load (oh, and don't forget to turn the cassette over halfway through). Or show off to your mates with your very own Duck Hunt bazooka.

So, we came up with 10 blasts from the past - perhaps not the very best games around in the 80s and 90s, but these special little treats still hold dear memories in our slowly numbing fingers. I'm actually humming the California Games song whilst writing this post!

Donkey Kong II Hand Held

Rockstar Ate My Hamster on Spectrum ZX

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on GameBoy

New Zealand Story on Amiga

James Pond II Robocod on Atari ST

Felix (on) The Cat(walk)!

That purring preener Felix The Cat definitely has an everlasting vintage appeal. Since his first steps out of the catflap way back in the 1920's, we have grown to love this silent (but stylish) tomcat! Cementing his uber cool credentials yet again, Jean Charles De Castelbajac's Spring Summer'11 collection features the silent-movie star embedded in wild, tribal prints. Way to go Felix! Check out these beauties to take you through from day to night in feline fashion (limited stocks mind folks!)...

Space Hopper Saves The Day!

While getting our fix of the mags last night, TruffleShuffle came across this amazing story of how a Space Hopper saved the lives of two young girls and we had to share it with you.

The two girls aged 15 and 16 were walking along a sea wall in Dawlish when a freak wave knocked them off and swept them out to sea. Neighbours heard the girls screams and ran to help but when they realised the life bouy wouldn’t reach them, they had to come up with another plan of action. Luckily, another quick thinking neighbour just happened to have a Space Hopper to hand?!! which he was able to throw out to where the girls were trying to stay afloat. With the help of the super space hopper, the girls were able to hold on till the life boat and coast guard rescue teams arrived.

Both girls went on to make a full recovery after their ordeal and will always remember the funny faced, bouncy toy that saved their lives. Get your very own super life saver for just £14.95 at TruffleShuffle.com.

We know what we are taking with us to the seaside this Summer!
