The Weekly Retro Movie Rundown 198

Mop our brow and pour us a drink! It's only another sunny retro movie weekend!

Like an over excited weekender heading to the nearest beach , we find ourselves faced with another few days of adventure, comedy and perhaps a bit or romance as we set up base in the sand for another retro movie extravaganza! With sandy sandwiches and our trusty bucket and spade, we'll wind away the sunny afternoon with the gentle breeze and sound of the crashing waves. With more layers of sun cream on than there are layers on a gob stopper, we'll soak up some Sun before dashing the the ice cream van to grab more treats than we know we probably should. Good times.

Have a happy retro weekend!

10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About… The Princess Bride

Action-packed, funny and light-hearted, it's not wonder that 1987's The Princess Bride is still as much loved now s it has ever been. Being packed with sooo many classic quotes including that one has possibly helped just a touch too!

So! Let us dive head first into the pool of frankly inconceivable facts about this classic with our 10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About The Princess Bride. Enjoy!

1. Neither Cary Elwes or Mandy Patinkin had any sword-fighting experience before filming. Both trained rigorously, and every frame of Inigo and Westley’s sword fight on The Cliffs of Insanity is actually the two actors.

2. The music came with a quirky catch.

Director Rob Reiner wanted Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits to write the music for the movie. He agreed, on one condition: That Reiner put the hat that he wore in ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ in the film. He did, and it appears in the grandson’s bedroom.

Can you defeat the Labyrinth or will Jareth turn Toby into a goblin babe? You have 13 hours to find out with this epic board game base on the classic Labyrinth movie by Jim Henson. Each player takes on the role of either Sarah, Hoggle, Ludo, or Didymus and much like the film, players have '13 hours' to navigate Jareth's labyrinth to rescue baby Toby. The gameplay is designed to be fast-paced, family friendly, and open for up to four players.

The game consists of two distinct stages, one where the group must adventure through the labyrinth trying to find the goblin city whilst keeping their willpower as high as possible (nobody wants to fall into the oubliette!), and a second action packed stage where the players must fight their way into Jareth's castle where Sarah must say the magical words that will release her brother.
