Talk Ti-mmy! We catch up with the legendary Timmy Mallett...

School holidays were supposed to be about lie-ins and staying in bed until lunchtime, but this dream was shattered in 1985 when the alarm clock had to be set for 8:45am in order to hit the sofa for the 8:50am start of Wacaday.

Oringinally co-presenting the Saturday morning show Wide Awake Club, Wacaday gave Timmy Mallett the chance to shine in the zaniest way possible, and within days of the first show being aired (which coincidentally was the same week Timmy turned 30), us 80s kids were hooked on this utterly brilliant show!

25 years after those good ole Wac-a-days, Timmy remains a legendary character. His thirty year career started out as a radio presenter (in charge of a team including Chris Evans and Brian Cox) before presenting various TV shows, singing a number one hit single, appearing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, performing in a couple of pantos and more recently enjoying the limelight of being a very successful artist.

We have the pleasure of working with Timmy on our range of Mallett's Mallet T-Shirts and thought you TruffleShufflers might want to know the same things we've wanted to know all these years...

TS: So Timmy, we love your fabulously daring sense of fashion in particular those crazy glasses you wear! Which are your all-time favourites?

TM: I have squillions of pairs of spex. Lots were made specially for my TV shows and hit records! The Eiffel Tower, the mad skier, the Olympic rings, The Wacaday spex and the big Mallett's Mallet pair.  I have the pink cadillac spex and the Itsy Bitsy spex with palm trees! Wild, and  I love 'em all. I have a pair in my studio at the moment that I spent the morning painting. I've attached toys and buttons to them and they will be on my face at my next show!

5 Megadrive Forgotten Greats

When 16 bit was the king of consoles and your teenage life was controlled by something called a D-pad. You were either a Super Nintendo kid or like me

You were all about the Sega Megadrive. Obviously Nintendo had Mario and Sega had Sonic the Hedgehog. These games are have firmly proven themselves in gaming history and that will never change, But what about those forgotten classics of the 90s gaming scene. The games you only saw while watching Games Master on T.V. or the ones you would swop with your friends at school in the playground. Well for all you 90’s gamers out there here five of my favourite played and always wanted Megadrive forgotten classics

1) Rocket Knight Adventure

What’s cooler than a possum wielding a sword and and jetpack.....NOTHING! Some say this was the best side scrolling Megadrive game of its time which maybe why I've heard rumours Konami may be remaking it. Maybe there’s still hope of fulfilling my childhood dream of finally owning this game.

2) Italia 90

Mega Games 1 brought the three games on one cartridge. Super Hang on and Columns were the first two games but it was all about World Cup Italia 90 for me. Much like sensible soccer it was one of those games where you could pin point the perfect scoring point

TruffleShuffle Loves Chunk!

Here at Truffle Towers we love waiting for deliveries of new Retro T-Shirts, especially when thei're coming from top brand Chunk Clothing. As soon as that loading bay door goes up and that delivery truck backs up, it’s like a stampede of hungry Truffle Shufflers at Christmas ripping open boxes just to get our hands on those new funky T-Shirt designs.

My favourite design from their range are the funny Star Wars Stormtrooper T-Shirts. So I figured I’d use my Jedi powers and search the galactic web space (also known as a Google search) and share some of my favourite Star Wars inspired fan art, Cosplay and other crazy goodies from the farthest reaches of the Dark Side.

Enjoy and may the force be with you.

1) I think the Droids went this way. No Mike I think those were Beatles

2) Haha we've got them this time Dave, Vaders going to be stoked

3) Ok so the plan is. Hit 88 mph go back in time and patch up that tiny vent thus making the Death Star completely indestructible so we can all go to the annual Empire Employee dance and chat up drunk alien chick right?
